Iranian-born Gilda Kirkpatrick arrived in New Zealand in 1990. Once dubbed the ‘Princess of Paritai Drive’, there’s no doubt she will bring glitz and glamour to the dancefloor.
“I’ve never had any sort of dance instruction, so it’s going to be a completely new experience for me,” Gilda admits.
“But this seems like a great opportunity to learn how to dance from professionals, plus it’s obviously a great stage on which charities can benefit.”
Gilda has a bachelor degree in architecture, and recently started a new venture with her business partner: Hello the Conversation Company, a cutting-edge advertising agency where she works as Creative Director.
Gilda’s lifelong fascination for science and science fiction resulted in a vision to create a fictional story about the solar system and the universe, which so far has come to life as two top-selling graphic novels for children: Astarons – Cosmic Guardians I and II.
The mother of two young boys, Gilda starred in The Real Housewives of Auckland - part of the internationally popular ‘Real Housewives’ franchise. Her clever one-liners made her a fan favourite as she demonstrated a razor-sharp wit and engaging sense of humour.
