Hailing from a big whanau, Marama Fox, co-leader of the Maori Party, is temporarily relocating to Auckland to join the Dancing With The Stars family!
Marama thinks she might have a slight disadvantage with so many younger contenders, but she’s keen to give it a go for her health and well-being.
“My previous dance experience is limited to Saturday nights at the local karaoke bar, and grooving to Bruno Mars,” she laughs.
Marama grew up in Christchurch and now lives in Masterton. She is the mother of nine children between the ages of seven and 29, and she considers bringing her children into the world to be her proudest lifetime achievement.
Since her move from life in parliament she has been working on affordable housing plans, and is hoping to bring greater awareness to her charity Ka Pai Kaiti, helping with issues such as suicide prevention, feeding the homeless and preventing the use of hard drugs.
