Known for his high energy and animated judging style, we are delighted to have NZ native Julz Tocker return to the Dancing with the Stars NZ judging panel for 2019!
A Dancing with the Stars veteran, Julz has been involved in numerous seasons of the hit format in Australia and the USA, taking on various roles including professional dancer, choreographer, and co-host for the 2015 and 2016 Dancing with the Stars After Show podcast in the US.
Julz worked on the recent 2018 season of Dancing with the Stars USA as assistant to pro-dancer Sharna Burges, helping her take home the coveted mirror-ball trophy alongside celebrity Bobby Bones.
On resuming his place in the swivel chair for the second year running, Julz says: “I can’t wait to return home this year and be reunited with my Dancing with the Stars family. We created such a warm, loving team last season and now we have a whole new cast of stars – I’m excited to learn all about them and see what they can do.”
Julz is no stranger to coaching celebrities including Nina Dobrev, Goldie Hawn and Leah Remini. He has been a personal instructor to Caira in the NBCs 2015 production of I Can Do That and assistant choreographer to Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone for their roles in the 2016 Academy Award® winning film La La Land.
Julz’s other dance credentials include a lead role in the 2017 Dirty Dancing USA Broadway tour, as well as being crowned NZ Latin Champion, Australian Latin and Ballroom Champion, BlackPool American Smooth semi-finalist 2017, and World Latin American Semi Finalist in 2012.
