Hilary “Hilz” King (67) and Mary Irwin (69) live with their 13-year-old Brussels Griffon, Tebo. They’re a vibrant, fun loving and mostly retired couple who between them have 6 grandsons. They are well-travelled and whip-smart, completely comfortable in their skin – and love a good party!
Hilz is a rocker from way back who combined performing in 80s band Red Beryl with a career in Special Education, for which she was awarded an MNZM in this year’s Queen’s Birthday Honours. Mary spent 14 years as a women’s self-defence instructor and more recently was employed as an investigator into workplace bullying.
The pair love to pour a gin and watch television together on their red leather couch. Their TV diet ranges from Coro, through to Blue Planet, and The Chase. They also love shouting at the rugby.
