Cool-headed, all-round good guy, the unflappable Pete brings decades of experience to his role at The Block NZ. With an impressive portfolio of work including grand villas, ultra-modern townhouses, and a 16th century French farmhouse, there’s nothing this nine-season veteran can’t handle. Making the most of Covid lockdowns, Pete put his builder’s belt on to renovate two properties, including lovingly restoring a historic Devonport cottage.
“Being back in Pt Chev this season has a familiar feel, like being back in your old neighbourhood. It is fascinating to observe the changes since we were nearby in Season 3. The future look and feel of Auckland can be seen in the construction underway here and the variety of new builds is exciting. The Block NZ houses in this season are a response to the challenge of building better and smarter, making maximum use of space, ensuring privacy and creating warm, dry comfortable homes that will serve their new owners well. I think the teams are up to the challenge, but they should not under-estimate the task in front of them.”
Professionally, Peter is a NZGBC Homestar Practitioner and is a Licensed Building Practitioner under the scheme established by the Department of Building and Housing. Peter also co-hosted Three’s 2017 property show, Slice of Paradise; following the journey of first home buyers around New Zealand.
